Our Approach
We schedule classes around YOUR schedule. Only have 1 hour per day open? We can structure comprehensive courses to fit your schedule. We can train in your home or public training facilities, whichever you need. See us for all your firearms training needs.
We teach at a variety of locations in the DFW area including Dallas, Fort Worth, Lewisville, Farmers Branch, Grand Prairie, and more. Since we teach private lessons, we try to select a location that is convenient for our students.
Our Story
We started teaching in 2006 and have been constantly in business for over 13 years. We incorporated in 2011 and continue to provide the best private training experience in Texas.
We are NRA certified instructors and provide training to people who are interested in safe gun handling or who would like to improve their skills. Handguns, rifle and shotgun training are all available. For anyone new to guns, we provide a safe and thorough experience.
We are also certified by the Texas Department of Public Safety as Instructors for the Texas License to Carry program. We teach small and private classes.

Jim Adelt
Founder & CEO
Jim is a trained & NRA certified firearms instructor. He started shooting as a young boy in Chicago and holds a Texas License To Carry (formerly called CHL).
Jim also works weekends at a local gun range where he has assisted hundreds of students from the novice to experienced shooters.
Jim is a collector of unique World War II and older rifles and handguns.
His first concern for his students is always “safety”, and that is why he formed his training company, “Texas Gun Safety, LLC”
Jim teaches the following NRA courses: Home Firearm Safety, Basic Pistol Shooting, NRA First Steps Pistol, NRA First Steps Shotgun, NRA Basic Shotgun, and Personal Protection in the Home and is available for one-on-one range training.
Jim is also a Texas LTC (CHL) Instructor certified by the Texas Department of Public Safety. He teaches in-depth LTC classes for individuals and small groups. These classes are 5 hours long and are the best in Dallas.

John Crane
Lead Instructor
John is a trained and certified National Rifle Association (NRA) firearms instructor. His shooting interest began while a Boy Scout where he learned both rifle range and skeet shooting and safety procedures. He enjoys teaching the benefits and importance of knowledge and safety particularly to those new to the shooting sports. “Spend the time to learn what you should and should not do and you’ll be safe, competent and comfortable with handling firearms.”
